Polar Bear Migration

Today I researched and wrote an article for a Canadian National Parks conservation group. It was fascinating – I found out about a huge project where scientists are using crowdsourced data to monitor a community of polar bears as they begin their migration from Hudson Bay to Manitoba. Webcams are set up all over the place. Wildlife enthusiasts locally can upload pics onto the website, or those watching livestreaming via the web can take a still shot from the footage and share it on social media sites! I simply love this kind of thing: the perfect marriage between the natural world and interactive social media.

And here are the stars of the show, right now!
